How Important Is Church Attendance?

Church attendance is vital. It’s a command, a protection, and a lifeline for a believer. It doesn’t save you, but a saved heart will love to gather where the Word is preached and the Spirit is free to move.

- The Bible says, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together… and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25). That’s not a suggestion; that’s obedience, especially in this hour.
- They “continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2:42). The early believers were glued to the gathering.
- God set pastors, teachers, and the whole fivefold ministry “for the perfecting of the saints” (Ephesians 4:11-16). You receive that ministry in the assembly.

- Now notice: if God commanded assembling, why call disobedience “freedom”? True liberty is to do His will.
- You see, a coal burns hot in the fire but dies when pulled out. So is a believer away from the body.
- Shepherds were given to feed the flock. Refusing to assemble is refusing the very means God provided for growth, correction, and protection.
- The building isn’t the church—the people are. But those people must come together around the Word. If your local place denies the Word, don’t sit under unbelief; find or form a gathering where the Word is honored. If you are sick, shut-in, or hindered, God knows—assemble as you’re able, and seek fellowship in every way possible.
