If the thousand years were only symbolic, why does Scripture tie it to specific events, repeated time markers, and a before-and-after sequence? Why do “nations” go up “year by year” (Zech 14) if it’s not a real time of earthly rule? The Bible says “they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years”—that is literal reign on a renewed earth, the great Sabbath rest after six thousand years of man’s labor.
